Many training programs meet Vietnamese and international quality standards
In 2023, Ho Chi Minh City Open University was recognized as meeting the quality assessment standards for educational institutions at the level of the Ministry of Education and Training, cycle 2; 3 undergraduate training programs and 5 master's training programs met the quality assessment standards for training programs according to FIBAA (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation) standards in 2021 and 2022; 4 undergraduate programs have met the quality assessment standards for training programs according to AUN-QA standards in 2022 and 9 undergraduate programs have met the quality assessment standards for training programs according to MOET standards in 2021.
Internationally accredited training programs provide learners with the opportunity to transfer credits to universities around the world as well as the opportunity to find employment in European countries and around the world.

Outstanding Achievements
In 2023, HCMCOU was one of nine higher education institutions in Vietnam to be included in THE (Times Higher Education) Impact Rankings and ranked 100-200 globally for climate action.
In 2022, according to Scimago Institutions Rankings, HCMCOU ranked 325th in Asia (up 24 places from 2021 - 349th), with Economics, Econometrics, and Finance ranked 2nd in Vietnam and 38th in Asia; Education ranked 2nd in Vietnam and 80th in Asia; Business, Management, and Accounting ranked 4th in Vietnam; Social Sciences ranked 6th in Vietnam. According to Webometrics rankings, the university ranked 119th in Southeast Asia (up 2 places from 2021 - 121st).
In 2021, HCMCOU was among the top 8 universities under the Ministry of Education and Training to be commended for having numerous international publications (ISI, SCI, SCIE).
In 2020, HCMCOU was among the top 8 Asian universities for Teaching and Learning Strategy (THE).
HCMCOU has also made many practical contributions to community service in the field of education, co-organized seminars, provided feedback on policies that impact society, met the urgent needs of socio-economic life, established a bridge between policymakers, academia, and businesses.
