On August 7th, Ho Chi Minh City Open University hosted the MOU Signing Ceremony with Vos Discovery Co., Ltd at meeting room 704, 35-37 Ho Hao Hon street, District 1.
Overview of the ceremony
Attending the Signing Ceremony, from Ho Chi Minh City Open University were Dr. Le Xuan Truong – Vice President, Dr. Le Thai Thuong Quan – Head of the Department of Cooperation and Research Management, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Bao Chau – Dean of the Faculty of Biotechnology, along with other lecturers from the Faculty of Biotechnology. From Vos Discovery Co., Ltd., there were Mr. Yoo Jongman – CEO of Organoid Sciences, Ms. Kim Tai Hyun – Business Development Director of Vos Discovery Co., Ltd., and Ms. Pham Le Hoai Thuong – Manager of Vos Discovery Co., Ltd.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Le Xuan Truong – Vice President expressed his gratitude to Vos Discovery Co., Ltd. for their trust and partnership with the University. He reported that, with over 34 years of establishment and development, Ho Chi Minh City Open University has trained more than 35,000 learners pursuing degrees from bachelor's to master's and doctorate levels across 13 faculties and 32 undergraduate programs, 12 master's programs, and 6 doctoral programs in the fields of economics, engineering, and social sciences. To enhance the quality of education and equip learners with practical skills, Ho Chi Minh City Open University continually expands its cooperation with domestic and international enterprises, creating a solid bridge between the university and the job market. We are confident that today's signing ceremony will lay a strong foundation for a long-term and effective partnership, contributing to practical benefits for both parties and positively impacting the sustainable development of the community.
Dr. Le Thai Thuong Quan – Head of the Department of Cooperation and Research Management shared that, in the context of deep international integration, Ho Chi Minh City Open University continuously enhances its international cooperation in training and research, enabling learners to access advanced knowledge and technology from around the world. Accordingly, in the coming time, the Department of Cooperation and Research Management, together with the Faculty of Biotechnology, will actively coordinate with Vos Discovery Co., Ltd. to implement various academic activities, learner and lecturer exchange programs, as well as international scientific workshops aimed at improving the quality of education and meeting the labor market's needs, particularly in the field of biotechnology.

In his remarks at the ceremony, Mr. Yoo Jongman – CEO of Organoid Sciences also expressed his delight at signing a cooperation agreement with Ho Chi Minh City Open University and hoped that this relationship would create opportunities for both parties to leverage their strengths, bringing numerous benefits in training and research, and together building a dynamic learning environment to develop knowledge and skills for learners.

This cooperation agreement presents an opportunity for the University to expand its network of business partnerships, contributing to enhancing the quality of education to meet labor market demands. At the same time, it creates opportunities for learners to gain practical experience in working environments at various enterprises. In addition, both parties will coordinate to organize academic programs and scientific research.

Organoid Sciences (OS) is headquartered at 331 Pangyo-ro, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. OS is a spin-off startup from CHA University—one of the best medical science universities in South Korea—with world-class technology in stem cells, human genome research, and reproductive medicine. Founded in 2018, Organoid Sciences is one of the pioneering companies in Asia developing organoid platforms for applications in medicine and drug testing, collaborating with many hospitals in South Korea and several major pharmaceutical companies.
