On the afternoon of September 20, 2024, Ho Chi Minh City Open University held the launching ceremony of the OU Help To Be Helped Club (H2BH) and Vietnamese Language and Culture Club at the Traditional Room, 97 Vo Van Tan Campus, District 3.

The establishment and launch of the H2BH at Ho Chi Minh City Open University and the Vietnamese Language and Culture Club aims to create an environment for exchanging and sharing knowledge about foreign languages and cultures; Simultaneously, helping learners from abroad to be supported in administrative procedures and daily life, thereby quickly adapting in Vietnam through exchange activities and programs.
Attending the ceremony were Dr. Lê Nguyễn Quốc Khang – Vice President of the University, MSc. Trần Văn Trí – Deputy Director of Student Affairs and Communications Department, Dr. Nguyễn Thị Diệu Linh – Deputy Director of Student Affairs and Communications Department, Mr. Lê Thanh Long – President of the Student Association with members of the two Clubs and international learners.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Dr. Lê Nguyễn Quốc Khang – Vice President of the University expressed his joy and congratulated the two Clubs. He said that in recent years, the University has received a large number of international learners from many countries to exchange and study. The establishment of two Clubs is a very practical activity for the University to strengthen support for international learners of the University, at the same time, creating opportunities for Vietnamese learners to exchange and expand their horizon to the cultures of other countries, equipping them with international integration skills. It is believed that the two Clubs will be a strong link to international learners to improve their communication skills in Vietnamese, learn more about the country, culture and people of Vietnam, thereby, assure to study and achieve the best results.

Introducing the purpose, organizational structure and orientation of the Club, Huỳnh Thị Kim Chi – President of the OU H2BH Club said that in the coming time, the Club will actively follow and support in guiding the administrative procedures to help international learners quickly adapt and integrate when arriving in Vietnam. At the same time, it brings many great events associated with its mission, helping foreign learners have meaningful and memorable experiences during their time studying at the University.

With the same mission of promoting exchanges and connecting Vietnamese learners with foreign learners of the University, thereby creating opportunities for international learners to better understand Vietnamese language as well as Vietnamese culture, Cao Diễm Ngọc – President of the Vietnamese Language and Culture Club said that every month the club will organize cultural exchanges and academic programs to strengthen and improve the ability to speak Vietnamese for international learners, and at the same time be a bridge for you to deeply explore the beauty of Vietnamese culture.

It is known that in recent years, Ho Chi Minh City Open University has welcomed about 200 learners from many countries such as Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, France, Germany and the Philippines,... to study. It is believed that the two Clubs will be a positive connection, helping to tighten solidarity between Vietnamese and international learners at the University.
