Associate Professor Jan Bentzen shares research experience at the Faculty of Economics and Public Management

On January 25, 2024, the Faculty of Economics and Public Management hosted a seminar on research experience sharing with the participation of Associate Professor Jan Bentzen from Department of Economics and Business Economics, Aarhus University, Denmark. The program attracted many lecturers and students interested in the field of economics and econometrics.

In the seminar, Assoc. Prof. Jan presented the topic “Estimating the size of the GDP loss in Southeast Asia due to the Covid-19 pandemic”. This is a joint research project between Assoc. Prof. Jan Bentzen and Assoc. Prof. Le Thanh Tung, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Public Management. In his presentation, along with presenting the research findings, Assoc. Prof. Jan also shared in great detail the econometric techniques applied in this research, and the difficulties in data collection.

After the presentation, lecturers and students present in the seminar discussed very lively on related topics, such as the explanation for the differences in GDP slowdown among countries, the policy implications and further researches on this topic. The students who participated in the seminar showed great enthusiasm in the discussion session with Assoc. Prof. Jan and hoped to have the opportunity to join similar programs in the future.
