On the afternoon of November 10, 2019, at room 120, 97 Vo Van Tan campus, Ho Chi Minh City Open University, Graduate School and Professional Council Specialized Finance - Banking held a seminar with the content of "Efficiency of Financial Markets" presented by Dr. Rakesh Gupta - Griffith University, Australia. The seminar was attended by Dr. Pham Ha (Vice Dean of Faculty of Finance and Banking), a permanent member of Professional Council Specialized Finance - Banking, with numerous faculty lecturers and great participation of many graduate students studying Finance - Banking major at Graduate School of Ho Chi Minh City Open University. In the seminar, Dr. Rakesh Gupta presented his research paper titled “The Information Transmission between China and the US Agricultural Commodity Markets”, which raised issues related to the efficiency of the information transmission in the financial markets in general, and the US and China agricultural commodity markets in particular. The research paper used quantity economic models to test the research hypotheses and yields some significant results. Through the research paper, Dr. Rakesh Gupta also guided and pointed out the noteworthy points and expensive lessons in practice, helping students to have a more multi-dimensional perspective on the current financial market, bringing high efficiency in the learning process and acquiring knowledge. The seminar took place in the exciting atmosphere because of the realistic financial markets in many different environments presented by Dr. Rakesh to help students draw significant lessons about the global financial market. In addition, with the sharing and exchange of Dr. Rakesh Gupta on data collection methods and some quantity economic models suitable for the research topic, graduate students have learned a lot of useful and applicable knowledge in the learning process. Ho Chi Minh City Open University has a strong interest in connecting with other universities in the region and the world with the desire to create favorable conditions for all students to access global knowledge, keep up with the development of the world in many fields. At the same time, the university also wish to strengthen coopera tive relationships with international universities, organizing more exchange study programs and international seminars.
