The Ministry of Education and Training has decided to reward articles published in prestigious international scientific journals in the list of ISI, SCI and SCIE in 2019, with a total budget of 8 billion VND, extracted from the funding source of scientific and technological career in 2020 of the Ministry of Education and Training. The minimum reward is 2 million VND for an article. In particular, Ho Chi Minh City Open University ranked 5th in the Table of quantities with 149 scientific articles in magazines which is equivalent to 419 million VND .
After 30 years of establishment and development, Ho Chi Minh City Open University is one of the prestigious public schools in the country. Building a reputation by proactively improving the quality of training, the University also attaches importance to expanding international cooperation and particularly encouraging scientific research activities of lecturers and students. In the past 2019, the University was honored to be in the top 5 of the Ministry of Education and Training's publication of scientific research results in prestigious international magazines. Scientific research projects of lecturers have strongly developed, always leading in the group of quality research universities, including scientific articles published in the fields of natural sciences; science and technology; medical and pharmaceutical sciences; Agricultural sciences and social sciences.
To maintain and uphold the main task of the school faculty in teaching and scientific research, and to carry out an annual, particularly important traditional activity such as joint effortly of the school management in caring, orienting and cooperating with the lecturers and staff of the whole school. The enhancement of scientific research capacity helps teachers to further deepen professional knowledge in teaching, on the other hand, it is conditional to expand the understanding of majors, apply them to teaching practice, thereby asserting prestige of the lecturer. At the same time, making an important contribution to asserting and improving the reputation and quality of the school's training.
The research results of the lecturers are published in international specialized journals and the awards are the motivation for the university's lecturers to continue promoting their internal resources in scientific research. In the coming school year, with the orientation to build scientific research activities is one of the key points in affirming the role and position of the school, improving the quality of training and international integration, the Governing Board of University continues to focus on promoting and investing specifically in scientific research activities of the University's staff, lecturers and students.
