40 personnel of Ho Chi Minh city Open University, which is employees, officer workers and students, has collected 360 kilograms of wastes, plastic bags, domestic wastes on the shore of Can Gio beach in July 26^th 2020. This was a program launch by Ministry of Education and Training in the operation to support World Environment Day, Act for Environment Month of Education.

The annual World Environment Day on June 5^th is an important yearly international event holds in many countries on the world. For years, Vietnam has organized many activities in order to increase awareness of community about protecting the environment, also showing concern about the link between human and nature, ocean for a sustainable development. Over the years, with ministries, departments, unions of central and local in the country, Ministry of Education and Training has held particular and practical activities to support this important annual worldwide event.

Ho Chi Minh City Open University is one of university educational institution provide qualified workforce to serve the needs of economic- society development of Ho Chi Minh city, Southeast as well as Vietnam. In 2020, Ministry of Education and Training has co-supervised with Ho Chi Minh city Open University to organize activities to support the World Environment Day, Act for Environment Month of Education.

With the youthful energy and enlivening atmosphere, the university has spread beautiful gesture to the people and community, help return the coast of Can Gio to its original green scenery.

Besides, the Program also want to share the messages to every the young in the country, which is act together to protect the environment, lessen the use of plastic, nylon, single-use stuff and stop littering waste to the environment. It is to help lessen the wastes on Earth, return our living environment to its green beauty. Protect the environment is protect ourselves, it is responsibility of each individual as well as the whole community.
